Death to #24.....

#24 has treated my horribly today....I wanted to make a template of some different lettering examples that can be used to embroider names.... I set up the machine and went through all of the steps just the way it told me to... and here comes big bad error message #24 yelling at me...."beep beep beep beep beep...beep beep beep beep beep!" UGH!!! No, the small hoop is NOT attached, the large hoop is, that's the one its supposed to have attached...what is your problem?

I restart the machine a GAZILLION times, go through all of the step-by-step instructions, honoring the proper sequence in starting up and hooking it up....but error 24 keeps beeping at me!!! GRRRR

I call the service center... it is in Minneapolis. Minneapolis is 5 hours away from me, but THATS the closest service center.. I try to get their help, but they have none. One lady tells me I may have a sensor that is bad.. in my brand new 1 month old machine...

I go online, because maybe there is something there to help, and I find an update that may help how the computer talks to the machine, so I take an insane length of time to download it, and then the machine worked a little bit...

Enough to do the script samples, but I think the thread was wrong.....

Oh well. Now, I sit on the couch and listen to my daughter tell her dad that she will tell him how her day went as soon as he wasn't annoying....which means he'll never hear about her day... :D

A moment to pause

I am taking a moment to pause and focus on my home today. My sister gets in today. We are taking her in to help her finish her last year of high school. This house is getting smaller, but that's okay, because thats what families do.

In my pause today, I am making sure the house is rearranged. I already changed the kids' rooms, put the boys together, and put up bunkbeds in the room for the girls. I got all of my sewing stuff organized in to the hall closet, and its lookin pretty good.

I know there are some anxious mamas who are excited to get their Squishy Butts Baby Stuff, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. Thanks all!

New law in town

Effective immediately!!!!! All invoices will be paid before I start your order! Yup! I tried to be nice and make the items first, so folks could see what they are getting before they pay for it, but it costs me to buy the materials, and it is a risk to foot the bill for items that either don't get paid or take a week to be paid.

So, you order, I put you on the list...when your name comes up on the list, I will invoice you. If you cannot pay at that time,, I go to the next name on the list...Once paid, I will start your item. Once finished, I will send you a pic, if you are happy, I will ship upon completion. If you are unhappy, it will be my pleasure to fix it then send it. :D

Thanks lovelies! I appreciate your patience and support!

Spend money to save money...

Drove 2 hours away today to go to Sams Club...

...so we get up too early, get the kids moving in the right direction, am able to drink all of about 3/4 cup of coffee, and get on the road.

...We were able to stop at A & W for lunch, which is always nice...then we get to Grand Forks quite some time later, just to wander through Sams Club, save a few dollars on Gerber Puffs...find a few other noteworthy finds...then head out.

A stop at Old Navy to buy some pants, eat at Texas Roadhouse, then back in the direction of home again...

...2 hours and some seriously sub-par gas station coffee later, we made it home. I DONT feel like breaking down the bulk packages of food at the moment, and am avoiding the kitchen..

..I think we busted the myth today that going to Sams Club would save money on groceries. Maybe it makes for cheaper ground turkey, but the rest of the headache...not so much...

New Year, yo!

Its a brand new year, fun, fun, and..same stuff.

Good news is.. K is taking more interest in my little sewing 'gig'...

Its great because I am finally able to talk to him about it, which is important to me since I love him and I love the sewing. K is helping me figure out the actual man-hours it is taking me to make many of the items I have been offering, and some folks will be dismayed to learn that my pricing has had to change a little. However, with the cost of better quality materials and the realization that it does NOT take me an hour or less to make a cover, it has to be accounted for somehow.

...ya'll understand, eh?
